AMERICAN CLAY WORKSHOPS 2010Workshops at The Zero Point The Zero Point, also offers monthly hands-on workshops in Toronto, Ontario. The workshops are led by an experienced and accredited American Clay Applicator. Homeowners and professionals have an opportunity to learn and practice techniques to achieve beautiful wall finishes. Each workshop requires a minimum of six participants (maximum of 12) and payment in full at the time of registration. If a workshop fails to generate the minimum, we will reschedule your attendance or refund your fee, as you wish. Workshop 3 – Introduction to American Clay for Homeowners and DIYers (Beginner Class) $175 + HST No previous plastering experience is necessary. This course will cover the basic application techniques from wall preparation through applying all the American Clay Earth Plasters with various application techniques, and ways for achieving different finishes. Cost of this workshop is $175 + tax. Included in the tuition is an instruction manual. Workshop 4 – Introduction to American Clay for Experienced Plasterers (Advanced Class) $250 + HST The advanced class will assume prior knowledge of mixing and troweling techniques and will go beyond the basics to explore the creative potential of American Clay Products. This is also a great forum for those who have already experimented with American Clay and would like to learn how to improve their techniques. Cost of this workshop is $250 + tax. Included in the tuition is an instruction manual. "Artistic" WorkshopThis one-day class is for those who already have substantial experience with our plasters. No time will be spent on basics. We will cover as many "artistic" techniques and effects as we can, like multicolor applications, painting or spraying with pigment, use of colored sealers and waxes, and stencils. "I already have applied 15,000 sq ft, but had no idea of the multitude of artistic applications. We will cover the basic application techniques from wall preparation through applying all the American Clay Earth Plasters, including the Venetian finishes associated with the American Clay Porcelina, various application techniques, and ways for achieving different finishes. The workshop is 8 am to 4 pm with a break for lunch. A map of nearby restaurants is available, or bring your lunch. The office opens at 7:30, and we provide goodies, fruit, coffee, etc. The cost of this workshop is $175 + tax. Included in the tuition is an instruction manual.
